111R rebuild
Re: 111R rebuild
Looking good! Much more to do?
Re: 111R rebuild
LOL, Mikey, air con? Are you for real?!
[OK so I suppose actually you WILL need it with the sort of trips you probably plan with this scalpel-sharp track tool but all the same it made me chuckle!]

Re: 111R rebuild
Campbell, I was going to remove it but was advised against that from a future proof perspective. Plus as you say, for trips abroad it makes sense to keep it even though Lotus AC is crap.

Re: 111R rebuild
I must be getting old then, as the only thing I'd change with Elaines is to add AC - purely to dry the windscreen quicker now that we're getting into winter. After 10 years, I'm a bit tired of the bar-towel, stretching forward routine...

Always the way Shug, guess it's better to have it and not use it than not have it but want it, anyway it's staying now and hopefully be up and running soon.

Re: 111R rebuild
Keep the inside of the screen really clean Shug, use a simple glass cleaner or even just a good clean chamois. Or put the Rain-x cleaner spray on it. Put the windows down while de-misting 1st thing in the morning and a driveable patch will emerge pretty fast. At least it does in my S1!
I doubt a beer-soaked bar towel is the best tool of choice
But I do agree that AC really helps the demisting process even before the air has been warmed much...

Re: 111R rebuild
Post 1 updated.
despite numerous attempts the engine will not run. I does turn over and catch but will not run. The ECU throws up code P0340 which is for the cam position sensor but have swapped the sensor for another one and check the wiring continuity but still nothing. There is no voltage showing at the sensor but not sure there should be unless the engine is running. The resistance across the sensor is well within limits so not sure if the pins in the ECU plug aren't making contact properly or that the ECU itself is not sending the signal.
Any thoughts or suggestions as to the cause or solution would be massive help at this point as kinda running out of ideas as to why it won't see the cam sensor signal.

Re: 111R rebuild
The engine looks great!
Pity it's not running so great
Can't offer any advice on sorting it, but can say, keep up the good work!
