Multi fuel stove

I posted a while back about the stove that I had fitted to try and cut down on the oil, and do away with the electric heating all together. I gave it a couple of trial runs as I had plumbed it in myself, which meant that Robin was expecting it to explode, but there were no leaks and it looked as if it could do the job, although as it was July it was still warmish.

Tis now time to turn on the heating, so fired it up a few days ago, running it on chain sawed doors, pallets, etc along with last years leftover coal and logs that we had for the open fire that it replaced. Kept it on 24hrs a day, and the house is as warm as toast.

The reason that I am posting is the company that I bought it from is selling their last one for £1,150 delivered and with freebies, price when I bought mine was £2,250 but I talked them down to £1,850 as it was being discontinued. It was the largest one that I could find at 30Kw as you know the size of our house, so if anybody is thinking of installing one then I would snap it up.

Worth mentioning that eBay is also well worth looking at for stoves...I paid half of what I saw offered elsewhere for a wee 5kW stove last year, and can't fault it. In hindsight though I wish I'd gone for something bigger. Wood chopping/scrounging is the new rock'n'roll

Bought mine from Gouldie. Never looked back. Thought 11kw might be too small as went for form over function. Not at all, Mr G knows his stuff.

Ending up quite the arborist.

Im looking now to have similar fitted to our house. However i been advised that a 8Kw is all we would need. Were also looking to have a wood pellet burner fitted asap. As we only have electric heaters in the house,with a coal fire!!!!! So we know that we have to change the heating system now. Hopefully once this is fitted,we will also have a wood burner to assist in keeping us cosy. Does anyone supply and fit pellet burners on SE?

sounds like me. i also figured 2k ish but it grew arms and legs and i ended up building a chimney as i didnt want a 3m tall stainless pipe sticking out of the roof! total was somewhere @7k. was still worth it though

I had to do some brickwork ,plaster ,paint,hearth,with tiles for about £1000 including 11kw stove.

We are looking at fitting a log burner but i think it will be closer to £60K

Need to build an extension to actually put the log burner in

haha! just think how much it'll save you in oil though. should pay for itself in @ 100 years

Wow that must be a massive room that is going into? The only studio 3 we have fitted previously have only ever gone into commercial properties or barns.

The room is 8.5 x 5.7 x 2.4 mtrs. It also doesn't have a door on it to the hall.

I believe a 9 kw stove would have been the size for the room. Lindsay did like the f76.

Do you think the stove is too big? because I've been having douts as well.
