Transpires that Kim hadn't actually booked this, and when going to book, there was no space at the inn....

So, some frantic searching in the Art Deco area turned up this, and it's booked - South Beach, on Ocean Drive 8)

A friend stayed at The Betsy last year and loved it. We had a wee look at it when we were there last December and it looked lovely. Great location for eating/drinking and the beach.

I've just got back from 10 days in Miami. Best holiday we've ever been on. I think next time we'd budget for a few nights in Bahamas aswell as its so close.

The weather just now is great, although one day we did get caught in the most horrendous thunderstorm I've ever seen. It passed in an hour and then we were back out on the beach.

Loved it!

Oh yesh 8)

Lovely pics Justin - thanks for posting :thumbsup

My exact location before the cruise is Hallendale Beach, and afterwards I'm on Ocean Drive

Any strong recommendations for must-sees or must-dos?

Our hotel was on Ocean Drive! Perfect location really. Ocean drive is very lively from about 12th street down. Where is your hotel located?

Also it's about a 10-15 minute walk to Lincoln Road mall which is really just a big road with loads of shops and restaurants. We spent most our nights there. If any of you like puddings go to Serendipity 3 and order a Sundae! WOW!

We done a few things when we were there

Everglades - worth a visit, we done one of the airboat tours, not as many crocs as I'd hoped but filled a few hours..

Seaquarium - not bad, a bit small and a bit run down, but plenty to see. The pools for the animals are a bit small though which we didn't like.

Beach - spent a few hours easy on the beach every day. She loves 'people watching'

Hard rock cafe - disappointing. Living on its name

Biscayne Bay - worth a visit and for a boat trip around the islands

Most hotels have happy hours between 5-8 ish so worth taking advantage as drink is expensive

Advice much appreciated :cheers

We're staying on the corner of 14th Place - The Betsy Hotel - which is just a couple of blocks up from 12th.

Already planned on an airboat in the Everglades, and I'm sure the wife & kids will love that dessert! :thumbsup

The Betsy was next door to me, small world. The food there is meant to be superb.

We stayed at Edgewater..

We also went to a baseball game which we really enjoyed

We were going to look into going to see Miami heat basketball but not sure if they're playing when we're there....

....but my daughter is going to see One Direction who are playing in Fort Lauderdale on 2nd July

She doesn't know though and will be overjoyed
