I decided to take my 15yr old bike out for 30mins during my lunch break today.... not been on it for, oooh... 14yrs. I forgot how heavy the thing is.
I only covered about 8km through a combination if woodland paths, muddy grass & main roads.
Pitiful attempt, but I have come home looking like a Chilean miner rescuee, and feel like I have been through 4 auditions for Brokeback Mountain 2.

Maybe do some other activity tomorrow & pick the bike up again later in the week when I no longer have monkey butt.
I have no signature.

Day 3 of my new regime  as the festive period was remarkably boozy and much party food consumed...

So, under the watchful eye of Mrs Motivator (aka Mrs Bee - god bless her :blackeye ) I'm now on "Slimming World" which seems so far like a less extreme version of the Atkins...

...It should be manageable when I'm offshore, plus I've just bought new running shoes on the Schuh sale website so the treadmill/cross-trainer will be getting more than just a passing glance

Back to cycling to work today which was far easier than expected, looking forward to lighter nights and mornings though. Cycling to work along the canal in the dark is a bit bleak.

What time do you cycle in at, how far?

I've just ordered a new jacket and decent bag for the commute... thinking of starting again next week, but not looking forward to the dark & rain.

Usually leave about 7.15, cycle route is an 8 mile round trip along the canal. The canal runs almost from the door of my flat to the door of the office so I don't have to cycle on any roads.

Similar here, 7.15 depart, 6.5 mile cycle through the village, down a deserted B road and then onto the cycle path next to the runway/dual carrigeway. Shower > change > work > coffee.

Have only done it in the summer months before, but notice most of the regular cycle commuters are still cycling at this time of year.

yeah Wiggle.com has had it's yearly bashing from me already, their DHB stuff is actually pretty good, not to mention some very nice Merino base layers at much cheapness!

If i could commute by bike i would - seems a "free" way of getting exercise ! Alas i can't ever see me being ready, willing or able to do a 65 mile commute by push bike
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.
