Yeah, that's what I thought. I managed maybe 100 miles on it - it took me to work twice, and then to edinburgh airport where it sat still for 10 days...rossybee wrote:Yes.Corranga wrote:Do I win a prize?
You get to be the 1st SEer to pay to have a winter tyre repaired in the last 6 months.
Congrats!

Anyone else having issues with mytyres?
Ordered complete set of steelies with tyres on 28/10 and along with a complete lack of communication they have pit back and put back delivery.
Can never speak to a manager on phone line and got a generic response to the email I sent to the complaints address.
Now got this through;
the ordered 4 Complete Set of Wheels BMW 320 D TOURING 346L 1995ccm 110 kW 09.2001-08.2005 Steel wheels with winter tyres (LK 5 x 120.00 x 72.50) mit Nankang Snow SV-2 205/55 R16 94H listed in your order dated 28.10.2011 will be available probably the week after next should be available and will then be sent out immediately to you. We will let you know the exact
delivery date.
So the week after next is going to be at least 27 working days from order!!!! Beginning to think that every time I contact them the delivery date gets punted back a week!!
At least the weather hasnt turned yet.

Mine have been a bit slow too, phoned to whine and got the same answer by email (word for word) that you did. It's annoying as I phoned first to check what they could actually lay their hands on before ordering and it's still taking ages.
I ordered on 31st October and then never heard a thing from them. I started bothering them on 17th November. I got a dispatch notification on 22nd November and they show up on DPD's parcel tracking just now. They should hopefully be here any day.

It's still balmy down here. Most of the trees still have their leaves.

Light snow up in Aviemore today as well looking at the web cams, hopefully some during the week as heading up next weekend! This time last year we already had a good dumping of snow.
Winters fitted to the BM the other week.....hoping they are just needing run in as traction control flicking at 70mph in 5th

Yes, as documented a couple pages back. Their customer service leaves a great deal to be desired. Tyres have arrived now though & their courier was quicker than they predicted in the end.vet111s wrote:Anyone else having issues with mytyres?

Interesting although not much substance to back up the words and pretty much reinforces what others have said, (including if its gridlocked you're not going anywhere on any rubber
The Yokohama winters on the Europa have already impressed me with the grip on a rain soaked M74. Goodyears last week had me backing off to avoid aquaplaning, Yokos were probably good for 10-15 mph more in similar conditions

Try dropping the pressure a couple of PSI Mike.
The percieved wisdom seems to be to raise the pressures a bit over the recommended levels when it's just cold and dry, but on the BMW I've found the opposite helps with traction. Maybe it's because the recommended pressures are so high (42PSI on the rear if I remember correctly!)
