Not confirmed yet but sounds like he didn't make it.
Edit: 5 lap salute in his honour in 10 minutes pretty much confirms it though :(

Rip Dan wheldon very sad day,
I'm at the race and I can say I have never seen such a violent accident in my life,
All the drivers are in tears and fans are silent with shock,
They have done a five lap tribute to Dan very moving indeed.
Were numb right now.

I've just seen a clip on TV of the crash. It's absolutely awful.

Horrific incident. Worrying how easily they caught fire compared to the f1 cars we're all used to seeing.
