Might have to track the Clio for a hot hatch showdown :)

Be nice, please, everybody. It's my Uncle Danny's second ever track day and only his first in my Elise

I may dig out some Novice stickers - anyone got any spare?!?!

You can make a target^h^h^h^h^h^hnovice sticker with some yellow and black gaffer ... or some yellow emulsion and a black felt tip pen :-)

Cheers,

Dinna worry - there will be a few newbies, so briefing will be fairly strict on etiquette. Marshalls will be primed to have words with anyone taking the p*ss. 8)

As always - any issues on the day, don't sit in the corner grumbling - talk to any of the organisers, or to the marshals. This is all about everyone having fun in the name of a good cause :cheers

i really think the L plate in the rear window or clam is a great idea. Its easy to forget about novices when your out there, a gentle reminder always helps. It certainly cant do any harm. I would also go for an L plate rather than a yellow/black cross, as the latter is a motorsport thing, which hints towards racing driver rather then track newbie.

I'm not sure what the norm is for novice stickers, but have seen an L plate on the rear of an elise head rest as an effective sign.

:Edit; The Ape beat me to it

Totally - I might actually include this suggestion in the info pack to mail out. Good call. :thumbsup

Neil and Campbell in agreement shocker

I really like this one and the logic of L as opposed to Novice Cross is tip top.

OK, will stop short of Robin's perm marker pen solution (this from the guy who used a pot scourer to remove dead flies from his first Elise!) and pick up a couple of L Plates. Danny's sense of humour will appreciate that in any case I think :damnfunny

Back on a serious note, it's particularly important in a case like this where (whilst no track whore) my car has been seen on track many a time, and I think I broadly know my way around...if suddenly it looks to be driving like Miss Daisy when people expect me to be tramping on a bit, there's a risk of accident. I certainly found myself getting confused behind other cars in the past, only to find "the girlfriend was driving that lap"

I'm warming up my L plate in my van right now.
