Re: New V6 Exige pics
I like it a lot.
Particularly the rally edition image - Ford RS200 comes to mind right away
"Heavy", yes a bit...but what else on the mainstream market weighs just over a ton with 350 brake out the box?
£55k requires a sharp intake of breath - BUT if the build and interior setup hits the quality spot the German bloke at Hethel claims they are now aiming for, then it may just represent VFM. All moot for me - and many others I'm sure - but as pointed out above, this has to be the most positive reception for a new Lotus in years so bravo.
And good luck selling em Graeme. I'll put a pound on Andy G to be tempted...maybe by a pre-owned one though
Oh and Father G will SURELY have one after the wedding has been paid off...his late life crisis is bound to kick in about then!

I know. I'm not sure they had a lot of choice about the direction they took. I'm sure in a straight line it will be stupidly quick. What I'm hoping is that when you slam on the anchors and point it at the apex, it won't feel too much less nimble than a sub 800kg K-series carShug wrote:
Much as I hate to say it, there was never any danger of Lotus producing a car in the 800KG bracket with a V6 and hundreds of horsepower
That said I won't own one any time soon, though I am interested in the new supercharged elise (I like the valve trickery that the new engine has

Looks good, front end is stunning.
Were the last esprits not 1200+ kg with the same BHP and with a less rigid chassis, smaller brakes etc...

I absolutely love it. Great shape but with nice clean surfacing. Aggressive, but not over the top.
Before we all get too carried away on the weight, 1300kgs doesn't stop the 997 GT3RS from being a completely awesome driving machine.
At 55k this will sell very well I reckon.

Looks alot cleaner not sure about that back but I will wait till I see one in the flesh before claiming that it's ugly.
What's it up against ? If your a wealthy chap who has £60k to spend on a toy car what else is out there.

Loads of options I'm afraid. I like the Exige though, only thing is the door looks too small for the car..BiggestNizzy wrote:Looks alot cleaner not sure about that back but I will wait till I see one in the flesh before claiming that it's ugly.

Actually, maybe they don't.
The Evora GTE is ace!

Vantage, Evora, R8, GTR, Gallardo, f360, Sagaris.. List goes on!
Re: New V6 Exige pics
Er, new...for £60k? Vantage? R8? Gallardo? F360? Do they even make the Sagaris any more?!
This is all in "extreme aspiration territory" for me right enough, so I don't follow such prices very closely

Come on, new for new - you could use that argument to say a 1980s Bentley was a direct competitor to a Kia Picanto!Justin wrote:

Costs as well - you'd imagine running costs for the Exige to be lower than anything on that list (standard engine from mass production, standard chassis components etc)
Like for like, especially new, nothing in the bracket that I can see.

Re: New V6 Exige pics
I bet the new exige sells more than the evora... I was thinking about buying an evora but I'd rather have this:-)
