Our cat brings in live mice, at least two a day and usually a live rabbit or bird.

We get mice and rats have done for years have tried everything. Dont waste your time with the ultrasonic things also humane traps suck dont kid yourself you are now at war and all is fair. We started with saying its a shame to kill the wee things before you know it there peeing on your plates and eating your frosties, that cost me a new kitchen.Big cheese traps have claimed x 2 this week so far. Death to all mice long live the revolution

Makes me
when I read a pile oh bunkin like this.
Has anyone considered why ??is sonic was so brilliant at rodent/insect control, removel ...?? why the big pest control companys ie rentagob etc don't punt their use in a big way.
Lets put it like this, the simple thing like the smoke alarm detects smoke from a fire and therfore sounds off... saves lifes . So does carbon monoxide does what it says on the box it came in and help saves lifes. So convinced they work eveyone has them fitted as standard....its part of house safety.
Now if a big company like rentagob, can't sell these sonic devises in the same way as above then you have to ask?? do they work. The simple answer sadly is no, because if they did said rentagob would have the market sown up selling in all houses as standard...
I thank you, and goodnight..

Re: I have a mouse
I could hire out my cat - he's like a little killing machine; mice, rats, rabbits.
My friend, who's a vet and wouldn't have believed this if he hadn't seen it for himself, saw the cat charging across one of our fields. Chasing a fox.....

Re: I have a mouse
My approach when we had an issue at my parents’ holiday cottage was to buy half a dozen boxes of poison and spread it liberally among the foundations. Seems to have worked. I didn’t fancy using traps on the basis that you would have mice decomposing in the house between visits.
I’d shoot the feckers but a 12 bore wouldn’t do the floorboards much good.

Re: I have a mouse
My two cats are great.
One is old and lazy and can't be arsed with the mousing but is quite good at directing the action of the other one. The other is young and a veritable tiger when it comes to catching stuff. And he catches everything, drags it into the garden and then rips it apart after toying with it for a while. Last week I came across the remains of a crow. So we don't have any mice problems but we do have a lot of half eaten decomposing bodies dumped around garden and drive. Last year we had a problem with Starlings in the loft. I waited until the nesting period was over and chucked Jones up the loft to 'evict' the squatters (or should that be squawkers) then blocked up route into the loft with some funny wiry stuff designed for the purpose. The only downside is that I've discovered some nests in the trees behind the house that have been part built using the same funny wiry stuff. The buggers are mocking me.
Apart from cats and traps it is also worth trying to locate any obvious places the little feckers might be getting in and block it up. To win the rodent intrusion war you need to take a multi-faceted approach to the battle using as many war mongering assets you have at your disposal.

Years ago, my parents had problems with mice getting in. They were actually eating through concrete. The final solution to the problem that stopped them was a broken glass and concrete mix.Kelvin wrote: To win the rodent intrusion war you need to take a multi-faceted approach to the battle using as many war mongering assets you have at your disposal.
My most recent experience was a few years ago in my flat, where squirrels had got into the roof space,.. and walls, and were systematically destroying the property from the inside out; eating wiring etc (one of my neighbours found a dead one in his loft with it's teeth sunk into a cable). Needless to say, the little feckers did not last long
