Seems a lot more commercial in look and feel than XBMC and looks like it will be my partner of choice gonig forward. Agree it's interesting times ahead, but if anything for me that pulls me away from dedicated streamer and makes me even happier about having a PC (and eventually net-top PC) based system so i'm ready fro whatever comes at me.

Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

Boxee is great, I've been using it for ages which kind of means I'm really fussy about a streamer's user interface. It's making looking for a good hardware solution difficult. The Boxee box uses a different version of Boxee than is available for download which actually doesn't have some of the layout features I use most of all. Bummer.

Re: Media Streaming (nlc)
Surely a £200 net-top PC is the best idea for hardwear for boxee ?

At the moment i'm on a dual core 4GB box
but i'm sure it will run fine on the above.

I'm liking the look of the Xtreamer. Looks better than the Boxee for what I need (composite output) and far cheaper. At £100 including the wifi its got to be a bit of a bargain.

Great piece of kit - i bought one on Ddtb's recommendation and it's been excellent. Sadly my TV isnt DLNA so i need an external device.campbell wrote:I nearly nearly bought a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo enclosure,

This device is still on my radar.

The iXtreamer is the one with the nice UI. I couldn't find an example showing the Xtreamer with the nice UI. If it got a firmware update for it incluiding the nice UI then it really would be a great piece of kit but as it stands it looks like you have to navigate folders and choose based on filename which isn't brilliant. I would love to be corrected as at the £100 price point, an Xtreamer doing what Boxee does UI wise would be great value.neil wrote:I'm liking the look of the Xtreamer. Anyone know where I'll pick up a Boxee before Christmas? I've now ordered from 2 different places (Expansys and Cancom), and both were showing stock before they took my order. Nothings arrived so when I've checked their order status its showing awaiting stock - expected in 12 days.... any ideas?
