Yes Dom I did a Driving Fun day at Zandvoort and would love to do the Ring Session too. Too good an opportunity to miss. Last time we put out names down on the list and just paid on the day. Would that be possible again?
I've PM'd the guy from DF to ask if paying the 12th would be possible, but no response yet.

Will do.
If you wish to attend, Please add your name if it's not on the list below for the track day in the green hell, so I can put you on the list at DF.

1. mckeann
2. Andy G
3. cisco
4. BigD
5. Dominique
6.
7.
8.

Payment to sort, but I very much doubt it would be a problem to pay on the day itself.

Also, the 9 to 11 session, is to drive behind a ring-expert with groups of 5 to 8 cars to learn the lines. (like anyone would be able to memorize the track in 2 hours! ) Please note, that these are not familiarisation laps similar as with LoT.
The one driving behind the expert might learn something, but the last few cars will not be close enough.
I'm not in for that , but it's an option you can consider.

Many thanks Dom. :thumbsup

I pm'd Peter too just to give it more legitamacy since I've been registered on DF since 2008 and he may remember me and the fact that we all showed up and paid without any hassle. Obviously we booked in advance. :D

The Zandvoort day was very well organised and had the best drivers briefing I've ever had. We got the english version which was very brief at one sentence.

The French are doing what they do best. Hopefully this will be over by the time we arrive, we'll be doing well just to get to Nurburgring at this rate.

BigD got plenty of space: Maybe you can work out a deal to fill his car with jerry-cans of fuel to cover France. :blackeye

Anyway, the DF-guy Peter is happy when payments are done at the ring in the restaurant on the first floor "Devil's diner". Either Thursday between 16:00 and 18:00 or the next day from 7:30 in the morning. Make sure you bring Euro's :thumbsup
Obviously he wants to know who's attending, so for now I'll send him the list from a few posts back.
Your names and the car I think you'll be driving will appear in THE LIST.

CALAIS HOTEL BOOKINGS - please read carefully if you think I'm booking you a room in Calais.

Apologies for the delay in booking - I've been up to my eyeballs.

Hotel for Calais is:

Ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche,
Place de Cantorbery - 62231 COQUELLES

I've made two sets of reservations as I can only book 3 rooms at a time. Everything is in my name.

First reservation, 3 twin rooms, E84-07T0

Robin & Campbell
Stu & Tut (if he goes)
Kenny & Dom

Second reservation, 1 twin room, E84-09EU

Neil (Curr)

All the rooms appear to be a double bed with a single and the rate is for the room with either one or two people.

It's 55 euro per room.

If I've missed you off my list, you can just go to ibishotel.com, enter calais in the search box, make sure you choose the sous la Manche hotel, not the city centre one, and make your own booking? If you're struggling, let me know and I can sort it for you.

Cheers,
Robin

EUROTUNNEL BOOKING - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

Hi,

I've made my own eurotunnel reservation (for Campbell's car). You should make one reservation per car. There is no need to make reservations for passengers - they don't care how many people are in the car.

I've chosen the following crossings, though Eurotunnel are pretty flexible on the day which allows you to arrive +/- 2 hours from your scheduled departure with a good chance of an immediate crossing:

Thursday 11 November 2010
Check-in closes 18:20
Departure time 18:50
Arrival time 20:25 £44

Saturday 13 November 2010
Check-in closes 20:12
Departure time 20:42
Arrival time 20:17 £46

Note these are in local time.

Note you'll need the credit card you made the booking with and the reservation number with you at the check in booth.

These prices are pretty typical for this time of day, so I don't suppose they'll sky rocket in the next week or two, but if you're going, you may as well book now (they won't get cheaper!).

Cheers,
Robin

Final admin post of the day :-)

Get european breakdown cover.

Get an EHIC card (google it).

Read an AA/RAC type website on stuff you're supposed to have in your car to travel in France, Belgium and Germany.

Make sure your insurance company knows you're going to these three countries before you leave!

Cheers,
Robin

Robin, not decided on the Sunday yet, but it looks as if most are not staying. If I booked the same ferry as yourself, would I be able to use it on the Sunday if I stayed?

Just to let you guys know, there are some superb 5 day return deals being offered on the Geordie express ferry at the moment, which work out cheaper than the chunnel by the time you have taken fuel, hotel and hassle into perspective. The Ring is only 4 hours drive from Ijmuiden, AND you dont have to drive through France!

Just my 2p's worth!

Not much use for those doing a Walshy day en route, though ;-)

Tut, no - you will need to change your reservation if you decide to stay an extra day - that said, you can do it on the telephone and the only charge will be for whatever the increase in ticket price would have been. You can work this out yourself if you look at the cost of the 3-day trip and the 4-day trip - if they're the same price, book the 4-day trip and then switch to the 3-day trip if you decide to come home?

Cheers,
Robin
