For some time now I have been thinking of replacing the exhaust on my Lotus Elise Type 23. As it stands its just the standard factory exhaust thats on it and to be honest it doesnt sound the best. As the weather is turning I am spotting more and more Elises out and about and some of them sound fantastic as they pass with whatever exhaust systems they have in place. Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated along with rough costs and best places to go. I stay just outside Dundee (East Coast Scotland for those of you who dont know where that is).
Thanks in advance
Derek

For me you can't beat 2bular, plenty of options and he is fairly local.

Thanks for the tip. Website looks good. I'm perhaps just being stupid but does this guy just build them and ship them to u? I was looking for a one stop shop to build and fit for me. Before I had my lotus I modified a car that will remain nameless through shame but when I got a stainless exhaust system fitting I used a place in Glenrothes Fife and they were about £450 fitted.

It's a bolt-on silencer. Very straightforward to fit (or have a garage/specialist like Falkland in Glenrothes do it)

Larini are well respected and come in 2 flavours Sports and Club Sports for about £406 for a Cat back system. Mail order then just organise a local fitter.

As Shug stated, Jim makes the silencers from jigs and then ships them to your door.
Found a pic of my exhaust

I would recommend the new range from Eliseparts.
Better built than 2bular in my opinion and pretty much the same price. They also have the advantage of being repackable which I don't think 2bular do as standard.

Ha! Dan's post has nothing to do with exhausts Bob
Be careful Dan, you'll undo the pre-emptive schmoozing job Geary did on me.
On a lighter note Bob - for goodness sake, that exhaust is a blast from the past! Your brackets have been ready for a while but with recent e-mail shenanigans my inbox has totally deleted - pls re-send and I'll get them away for you FOC.

Jim,
Waiting on the rest of the parts for the 340R, what if I had 3 over the top manifolds for you to do ?
All in a line with the Bodies off ?
Cheers

So what was it to do with then Jim? Not sure what your problem with me is. Surely people are allowed to be of the opinion that other exhausts may be better than yours.
You seem to think I have a problem with you. I don't Jim! But I think it's fair to say that you're not the only person on the planet that makes decent exhausts.
