Some little changes on the new Exige/Elise

Post by LotusLee » Sat Jun 17, 2006 1:57 pm

Got my new Exige last night at last and it turns out that it is the first of the '07 spec cars. The car now has new headlamps with 3 lamps instead of 2, the LOTUS decals on the back are now badges (mk.1 Escort style :) ), steering wheel is now in softer matt leather, Alpine stereo instead of Blaupunkt , there is also now a bracket coming off the roll bar so the hard-top has a couple extra fixings I guess to stop any squeeks/flexing and the warranty is now unlimited mileage but doubt I will do more than 20k in 2 years anyway.
The sun has just come out so I'm off to get some runningin miles done.
cheers
Lee

does that mean you waited a whole 12 hours before realising there wasn't an existing topic you could shoehorn your "I've got a new car story" into so you would have to start your own?

I doubt I ouwld have lasted half a that :D

not jealous either

Ah so - lettering looks the business. Wonder if the new lamp arrangement gives any better light than the woeful standard jobs have since launch....

Ah driving lights vanish from front clam!

That will cost Lotus a fortune in the amount of replacement light sales they'll lose! :D

Dont worry Lee, It wont be a twin for long, the car will most probably be getting plastered with advertising so I can run it as a legitimate business expense (company colours are orange and grey...so it had to be orange!)

I picked the car up yesterday and drove it home in some of the worst rain Ive seen, I was bricking myself until I realised that the car seems to have little trouble in the wet and the tyres seem to have ample wet weather grip.

Scott, were you on the M90 heading towards Perth yesterday evening in the pissing rain?

I was heading in the opposite direction away to pick up the car.
