Nah - flow with it. You can let it jink around a little, it's just a matter of filtering out what's an actual pull and what's just shouty feedback. Elaine's 111R does it to an extent (not as bad as an Exige) and mine is set up to do it. 'Twas Lawrence who told me to relax with it and think of the car finding it's own route - you're just using the wheel to make the big decisions.Peter76 wrote:I almost bought an Orange one but in the end went for the white. If i've been for a long drive i always have sore arms by the time i get home from having firmly gripped the steering wheel for every single mile! Sometimes it's a pleasure to get back in the Golf, alot less work to drive! Maybe get myself down the gym and work on those arms!!

One should not grip the steering too firmly as this will hinder one's response when a true driver input is required. Unless one gets used to this way of driving, one can never feel 100% comfortable in an Exige.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Bit like our landie, the Liz steering is an average direction selector, (Well in the landie it's a vauge heading suggester) a nice light grip of the wheel and it'll dance over the ruts and keep on going, much easier on the arms on a long trip. The only annoying bit is on the m6 nearside lane the lorry ruts are slightly wider than the car track so it hops from one rut to the other every few seconds, I just join the middle lane hoggers or the BMWs in the outside lane if it gets too anoying...Shug wrote:Nah - flow with it. Will need to try relaxing a bit more then, just seems that the car makes sudden movements all the time that i'm not really too happy with.Modena Scotland wrote:Shug wrote: Nah - flow with it. Yup - Jedi technique is to let it
You'll soon figure out that it doesn't actually change direction or move that much, it's just finding it's own path...

I know it dances around but it's cool. Try a caterham, it is amplifiedPeter76 wrote:

Congratulations Stewart, lovely car
Look forward to seeing it at Knockhill again soon, if Craig has his car back again then we might make it 3 orange Exiges on track together! Think it might even have been you that took this pic (that's your new car in the background):

Re: My Car Future is Bright ...
I went looking for somewhere nice to photograph the car, but as usual couldn't come up with anything inspirational. Anyway here are some snaps of my new car.

My civic isn't quite as orange as I thought it was

I also put the stage 2 exhaust on this afternoon. The old one is a very tight squeeze to get off and I struggled a little. It also weighs a ton! Took my brother and me about 2 hours
but the new one was much easier to put on, though one of the hangers is a real PITA to get too. Sounds quite boomy and might drone a bit too much on the motorway. The pops and bangs are nice though
. Will I ever grow up?
