Knockhill Anticlockwise
Re: Knockhill Anticlockwise
I remember spectating at the very wet reverse night, would love to try KH in reverse. Also recall a convo with Mac regarding the approach to Clarks being very tricky, I was stood in the shed there watching, looked absolutely treacherous.

Twoud be good to do it again. I drove it just once, the same day as the other old timers in 2004.
Completely different track in reverse, a total re-learn, even more so as it was very wet. Coming up Duffus was very steep with the blind crest and turn at the top. The speed into the Hairpin in N3 would be pretty high with very heavy braking.
As Mac said, the slight bend that you do not even notice coming out of Clarks onto the Railway Straight is very noticeable when you take it flat, then realise the speed that you are coming into the corner at.
Pity it will not happen again.

Re: Knockhill Anticlockwise
No - it was a Hot Marques. They ran two that year, the first one was probably the wettest I've ever seen Knockhill. The second one was drier.shooomer wrote:Was the wet one a SIDC?
I remember a dry Fri night Hot Marques in reverse
It really all came about after a conversation I had with Sasha in the pit lane one night (I sound like tut now
First few laps were done behind the pace car to give folk sighting laps and get a feel for the track, unfortunately I missed these as I had locked the keys in the boot of the S2

Mac/Tut,
If we got enough people that were interested do you think they'd do it again?

Re: Knockhill Anticlockwise
I'm not sure they still have the dual direction license any more.
I know that when they did they had to run the entire day the wrong way round.... no harm in asking I suppose.
Don't think Sasha's there anymore - it's been a while since I've been track side this year and don't recall bumping into her.
Maybe the ole charmer will have more of a chance

Going reverse will be good for my tyres

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Found a video of a hot hatch day done in reverse direction:

Looks a bit strange, McIntyres and Duffus don't look like much of a challenge, whereas Clarks and the chicane look a lot trickier.

Fortunately we do not have the cones put out, and he is lapping in 1.19, so not a great sense of speed.
