Suspension on warranty? You sure?
Good stuff if you have - when my original Koni's went, I was informed that the 'covers everything' warranty they supplied at the time didn't cover pretty much anything.
So I bought Ledas for a few quid more than Lotarse wanted for ONE KONI!
Good stuff though

Another thumbs up from me too.
Went in for a service a couple of weeks ago, and got a couple of other things sorted under warranty. It got a nice clean too!
Also sorting out a new heater which is getting fitted next week.
Not had any problems at all, and all been very easy dealing with Andy at the service side.

A thumbs down from me i'm afraid.
Up till now service has been fine. Put my car in on monday 8th to get heater motor replaced. Not due to be ready until that Wednesday (clam off etc). They spotted a "very slight" leak from the radiator as well and said you may as well get that fixed too rather that having to replace the clam then take it off again at a later date. Quite logical really. Wait for a warranty guy to authorise the repair and then order the part for next day delivery. I told them (on Tuesday) I needed the car on Friday, no buts, to go down south. Yes, 3pm should be ready. No offer of courtesy car at any stage. When I asked, they had none.
Ended up giving them a bit more time to stick back together because I didn't want the uncertainty of how I was travelling, booking tickets etc, on the the understanding they would have all Friday and weekend to do this and pick up on monday.
Monday morning phone call before I leave to pick up - Not ready yet. Well what stage are you at?
Still got to install new radiator and put clam back on!!!! Couldn't believe it.
Sorry for the Monday morning rant. Just not too happy about the whole thing.

That's probably because I've got it!Burnetto wrote:No offer of courtesy car at any stage. When I asked, they had none.
Waited six weeks for replacement barrells for the locks and ignition (after them just oiling them the first two occasions).
Finally get call, and instead it's just new sleeves rather than replacement barrells. Okay, fair enough. Put it in on Thursday 8am.
4.30pm thursday get a call, er, we've broken something in the driver's door. Need to order new parts but they're "VOR" (whatever that means) so they'll definitely be here on sat morning. You can have a courtesy car.
Fine.
Saturday morning: hi there, um the parts didn't arrive this morning, we phoned Lotus and they don't know what's happend to them, so they're sending up another set by 'special courier' (magical ones who work Sundays, obviously) parts will be here monday and you'll have car back then.
Monday am: Still waiting...
I need it back tomorrow as it's going in to have the crash damage fixed. Apart from anything else, it's costing me to park the Hunk of Junk Chrysler today on the off-chance I'll have my car back today.
Not impressed. Mainly because the explanation of what actually went wrong is very vague.

One gets the impression that any skills that were present at Murrays in days gone past have totally gone out the door....
Used to be you'd moan about the price, but it'd be (9 times out of 10) done pretty well and you'd be taken care of.
That seems to have gone the way of the Dodo.....
Poor, MMC, very poor.

Well it seems to be why they've dumped the Glasgow arm - don't know what the service is like in Edin, but here it's clearly all about Chrysler, and no one's particularly well versed on, or that bothered about, any Lotus issues.
To add insult to injury, the PT Cruiser is a big lolloping pile of pish. I nearly keeled over when I realised it's a 2.4 petrol... Yeah, 2.4 asthmatic hamsters on a wheel in there, more like!

Yup - rumours were abound about Glasgow being dumped shortly before Pauline left... (I miss our 'girl on the inside'
)
They definately lost the sales side (due to being pathalogically pish) and I didn't think the servicing would last long, after a couple of conversations with the brain donors in the parts dept.
Real shame - JM Jr would not have been pleased.

going to chuck my sombrero int the ring here too...
After my 'free' A service, Mac & I installed new zorst & decat. We waited until after the service as Mac rounded off one of the allen bolts trying to get the tray off first time round
Anyhoo, got under the car post A service, to see the same bolt still rounded... Question is begged how the feck they got the undertray off when it took Mac and I 20 minutes with an angle grinder! So - possibly no oil change or filter?
Emailed gavin this am - resoponse was..
"Spoke to the workshop the two 5mm that are required to drop the under tray were seized so were removed and replaced the other 8mm bolts came out freely so no special tricks were required"
So, unless they replaced a rounded bolt with another rounded bolt, soemone's telling porkies. Difficult for me to tell if the filter was changed without getting covered in gloop though..
If I'd paid the £384 I saw quoted for the service, I'd be fuming!

Technically, you can take off the front (main) section of the tray, while the rear diffuser stays on. Peer in at the front of your engine and see if there's a new oil filter on it, just in case......
Plus the oil on the dipstick will be lovely and golden...
