Gutted! Went on a wee run in the Exige up to Ballater yesterday with G and few others. While trying to find a parking space, I ended up face to face with the local BiB Rangey on one of the back lanes (parked cars meant one lane blocked). Being a polite chap (and figuring making the cops reverse wouldn't go down well), I waved them through. Of course, they took the time to stop and query the lack of front plate... must have fell of again

As it was on the passenger seat, I jammed it down between the windscreen and dash to keep them sweet. Once I parked up, i would seem that I had jammed it too hard and I know have a network of 3in cracks coming from the edge of the screen on the driver's side. Doh! Wish I'd just said I hadn't got one and taken a £30 on-the-spot.
So any, it'll obviously go through the insurance. I know that the front clam needs loosened off and slid forward before the screen can be changed but how have other folk dealt with this? Does the insurance company generally arrange this with a dealer or is it expected that I will sort this myself before the autoglass man makes his visit? Also, seem to remember something about poorly fitting aftermarket screens - is this stll an issue? Insurance company is Admiral if it makes any difference... Appreciate any advice
I guess the easy thing would be to take it down to Ali's but the Elise still needs taken down for its B service too and the logistics of taking two cars down and dumping them both is a nightmare. PITA!!
