1st Walshy Day

Post by Mr Spook » Mon May 01, 2006 8:13 pm

Well just back from my first (and definately not last) Walshy Day.
To those who recommended it - absolutely right!
Was a great blast. Totally enjoyed it.
Just wish it wasn't a thousand mile round trip.

Was good to meet up with Blaque and I think it was mckeann who popped by just after one of the other guy's radiator blew up.

Would love to have somewhere similar more locally where you could happily thrash your car.

Next thing on list - Knockhill.

There is a place: Crail.
We have, in the past, hired out the airfield and just hooned about. IIRC, it cost somewhere in the region of £30 per car and we had roughly 15 cars. It was Lee that organised the one I did, others have tried to organise them but the interest isn't always there. It's worth a try again though as it's a good laugh and a good was to learn about the car.

hi mr spook. it was me popping in to say hello. didnt realise there would be a scottish eliser there, but nice to meet you.

as for crail. i beleive its a no go at the moment due to council restrictions. thats why wlashy cant do days there. probably noise enforced restrictions, but i'm not sure

Wish I had taken advantage of him coming up last year :( The drive down midweek is not a possibility for me so will just wait and hope he returns

Was amazed to find there were three of us down there - how was the rest of your weekend?
Spoke to Walshy re Crail and he confirmed that they are only allowed to run a certain number of days each year, so go for the ones providing the biggest bucks - i.e. not Walshy!

Hey Mr. Spook,

Good to meet you on Friday.
I'm just back, must have ticked off most of the Welsh coast, and the Lake District on the way home. Clocked up 1500 miles for the whole Walshy day trip.

Hope your Radiator lasted the A1

You have PM.
Pleased to hear Welsh trip went well.
Run up the Midlands and West Coast was fine, thankfully lovely hot day made up for stupid bank holiday traffic.
Loads of Volkswagen Camper Vans (camper than what?) on the roads - I would if I had the space! 8)

Was a very good day - now trying to sort out another one, sooner rather than later! This time probably sans girlfriend.
PS That is not a chat up line...
PPS Same goes for you jjk
