Koni shocks

Could anyone please tell me which of these standard S1 Elise shocks are the rears?

Ones with the longer springs.

Heavier springs too - that's how I remember.

mmmm.... Tambo's just been round. Can't see that he'll be doing the tracknight with the car as it is. The koni's have been fitted by his mate but it's now sitting at 100mm rear, 135mm front !!! You can't get your finger between tyre & arch at the rear. Certainly doesn't look like standard ride height at the back....
Would that happen if you'd fitted a set of fronts on the back?

I've told him to be careful on the motorway coz the air is just gonna lift that front and cause major understeer at speed.

Tambo just pm'd me and there appears to be something wrong.

I went on what Shug said, ie the rears are the ones on the right of the photo with the longer springs, which are the ones that I had.

Anybody else able to confirm if this is correct?

ps Andy, are you not able to compare them to the ones that he took off?

He just drove round to my house out the blue tut, so he didn't have the old ones. I was 'mid-glass'
One of his mechanic mates did the swap for him... last time I saw his old ones they were still in-situ, dripping fluid

The only thing I can think is that they are the wrong ones... or have been fitted in some bizarre way 100mm is definitely not right either way (I was handy with the measuring tape at least).

When I fitted the S2 kit to my elise I fitted the rear brackets on upside down (easier done than you imagine) and that is what I was running at, the rear looked cool bur the front looked stupid

My m8 has his own business as a mechanic but maybee not worked on this type of thing before can these be fitted wrong.....?

he said he just took one set of and the other set went on no probs

ill go get my old ones and compare tomorrow....the new dragster look of my car looks different
