Bye Bye
That's a pretty tidy Impreza, Gareth, however be careful. The 4-door is not as practical as you think, and if that's an STI, I have a feeling the rear seats don't even fold down. It will also cost you a bank loan to run...heavy on fuel, tyres, brakes, servicing, parts costs, you name it. Our 5-door MY99 was a cracker and I do wish we still had it now - it DID have the practicality to be a baby-wagon, but even on our dual salaries it was becoming a drain to run it and enjoy it day to day.
A strong Turbo Diesel is what you want. There are some nice Audis knocking around with 130, 155, and 180 bhp TDi on tap (and as much torque as a standard Impreza Turbo...chippable if you REALLY want more!). Double the mpg of the Impreza, half the servicing costs and way better residuals.
Think carefully before acting

Jings Dave, that's pretty close to our ideal motor!! If Lisa wasn't so hung up on her lovely Golf GTi TDi 150 Anniversary with sparkly wheels, I think I'd have been making an offer!
Here's sample, albeit in red - Lisa's is black:

We plan to extend the lifespan of the old GTi by investing in a roofbox, and then of course a trailer, and then a trailer for the trailer etc...
Gareth, if you are listening, Dave's A4 is the answer
