Lotus 111R noise problem

Hi everyone new to the website, was introduced by Dominic Shanahan so go easy on me!!

I currently have a 111R 56 reg which has got 13k, great car by the way apart from this noise which is coming from the engine department. It only happens when i'm pulling off from a stop and it sounds like a drone noise which i think may be something to do with the clutch or engine mounts. If it helps anyone when i try to pull away in 2nd gear the screeching noise is loud as well not sure if this is connected to the problem. It's the new drive by wire pedal system as its a 2007 model year but as i'm not techincally gifted this is a true problem.

Your help or suggestions would be great full.

Would be tempted to say it's just a slight noise, if it's always done it, shouldnt be an issue. If it's especially loud or concerning you might be worth a trip to let Ali have a listen? He's in Edinburgh, Scottish Lotus Specialists. Do a forum search for Ali or SLS and you'll find his details.

If it's a problem - yes. MMC's ability to actually find if it's a problem - virtually non-existant.

Yeah you are so right had the thing in for 3 months last year with a ECU problem which was a pain in the arse!!!

could be the heatshield or undertray working itself loose?
