I need this to connect a spare battery to my car for starting from cold and I'm looking for a source

Nope not used on aircraft, but I couls get you something similar maybe. The local motability center will have them for electric wheelcahirs though.

I'll find a piccie of what we have.

Not the best piccie, but these are the 28VDC power cables, our jets have the sockets but we don't use them. They are rated at ridiculous power (>500Amps) and they are not light weight at all. (The sockets are light weight though. If you want me to I'll try and get hold of one of each.

I'd better stay with the racing standard as that way I can borrow a battery when an emergency arises.

I have just realised they are also used on pedestrian operated machinery like fork lifts and the like. Give me an hour to wake up (Finished at 2 am)and get dressed and I'll ask at the Gefries (Ground equipment bods) see if they have any.

Some lorries have plug points that accept them .

I came across a fire engine that was 28 volts and you could plug in some jump leads to it.

it's the 175 amp version that the racers use BTW the larger in the picture

OK, now I understand what you're looking for, RS do sell them.

You need
2x 6329G6 (Red, 175A housing + contacts for #4 wire (I reckon that's 6mm diameter wire)).

The RS part numbers are:
2508765727 (6329G6)

The handle is a 995G1, but RS don't stock that. They do stock the 995G2 which is grey and technically for the 350 AMP connector, but is actually going to fit anyway according to the drawings.

The RS part number for the 995G2 is 2508767111

They are all on 5-10 days lead time.

Do you want me to order a set? I reckon it's going to come it at about 25 quid by the time you've paid VAT and their extra handling charges for non-stock items.
