Current idea being bandied around the TT group is to head further west after the TD - as it finishes at 5. This would mean that we would start Saturday right into the good roads - no slog West.

We (TRS) did that on our last Tour d'ecosse and started at Fort William rather than the traditional Perth, worked much better :D

anymore for anymore?????????????????

The track session has been booked for friday the 9th of June. Can book a space here: http://shop.sidc.co.uk/index.cfm?cat_id=8

£80 for 4 hours of open pitlane tracktime. Looks to be 90% elises, with a few oddball cars thrown in for good fun. Last year there was a 911 GT3 RS and a ferrari to play with.

Once the slots are filled for the trackday, we'll confirm accomodation for the friday night. The plan is for everyone to stay at the same hotel and have a nice meal and a hefty drink on the friday night.

Saturday will see a massive run, starting in Fort William, ending outside aberdeen. Last years run was 360 miles on the first day. There's various groups, so you can join one that matches your speed and experience.

Saturday night, BBQ and party :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer

Sunday, drive back down towards central scotland, over the highlands, passing through all the main ski resorts. They should be clear by june :)

Right, I have a dilema...

I want to come along to what has to be 'the' meet of the SE calender, however I'm going to be at the arse end of Cornwall (RAF StMawgan, look it up!) the week before and I have to be back in cornwall week after....(Working Detchi shifts too, 24hrs on 24hrs off...!) Also I will have to suffer the (Fairly extreme ) wrath of the girlfriend who isn't best pleased that I would rather 'play with cars' then see her....

Any suggestions about:

a. Is it worth flying back up for Mexi Towers (Pretty sure what the answer will be...! :))

b. How to diffuse the girlfriends wrath :?

I have asked if she wants to come along, but the answer was a pretty resounding no.... :(

Help!

Rich :(

Richard,

If MexiTowers holds true to the TT formula, then it can be essentially what you want it to be on a scale from quiet cruise through the country to full-on blat at high risk of plod-intervention...as well as lads night out through to enjoyable social party for you plus partner.

So I think it may just be possible to sell it to the gf (I did, a few years ago...albeit when I ended up in the jacuzzi with several other scantily clad people at least one of whom was female - and that wasn't the gf - it all got a bit delicate...but diplomacy still won the day).

Seriously...if she enjoys a party, then bring her along. Pick a medium type route to enjoy (if you have time...I get the impression it would literally have to be a "flying visit"), and show her that this lot are really quite a fun bunch of real people and not total petrolheads :-)

It will be good fun, so try and get her to come along.

I go with Kenny on the type-r-scotland runs and i enjoy them, the run is always good fun and the banter after is a laugh.
