Alarm allergic to rain

Post by Mr Spook » Fri Mar 31, 2006 4:28 am

This happened when I first got the Elise and has been quiet for a while.
Just got woken up (and I presume the neighbours too) by it going off again. And once again it's pissing down outside.

Does anyone know if the sensitivity can be adjusted on the alarm sensors?

Might have to book into MMC as the heater has stopped working too which is making clearing the screen difficult/impossible these last couple of (wet) mornings.

More likely to be a sensor, the little rubber boots come off and water gets in them (esp. boot sensor). Try spraying with WD40...

Heater problem is common, blown switchpack or siezed motor. Either way £££ at dealer if you're out of warranty - clam off job. :(

Hmm, my alarm just seems to be fecked. Noticed the alarm light flashed once or twice whilst giving it a booting the other night and now all he breaks loose when I try to start it.

There is the possibility that the battery could be flat (may have left the sidelights on) or there is a loose wire somewhere in the alarm system.

And its raining.

Thankfully still under warranty so should be OK re the heater.
I'll have a look at the contacts thanks - definitely only happens when it rains.
