Boot Leaking - From around the key hole!

Post by ChrisG » Sat Jan 12, 2008 12:22 pm

I've been getting a bit of water in the boot of my car.

After a bit of investigation (pouring water on to specific areas with paper towels inside the boot!) I managed to trace it to the water running in around the boot key area. You can actually see the water draining around the key hole :(

I've not removed the lock assembly yet.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what was the fix?

BTW Car is only 3 months old but MMC is too far to take it back for a fix.

Small amount of clear glue/sealant round the outter rim (just avoid the lock itself obv!) and you'll be good as new

maybe it's rusty

The paper towels and pouring water on sounds like a good plan, my g/fs mx5 boot is always wet, and i was wondering how to find the leak
