I imagine it would include self driving of the ring in your car, as when you go to the ring as long as it is open to the public you simply pitch up pay for a ticket, which you choose depending on how many laps you want to do.

having done an unorganised tour of Europe, this looks like a very good price, considering the accomodation etc.

We took the ferry from Rosyth to Zeebrugge and drove clockwise round Europe, simply making a decision that morning at breakfast roughly where we were going to go. Saw some awesome sights, pitched up at the ring at about 4.30pm, an hour before it closed, managed to get 2 laps in before it closed, then bolted for some petrol and put in another 150 miles that evening.

8-12 hours of pretty much solid driving a day, also timed it so we stayed in Luxembourg before on the Friday and took in 2 days of the German rally, had an awesome weekend, and also bartered some great hotels when arriving at 10pm!!

If i had a car worth doing, i would do it all over again!!! 2 cars, 2 of us and one very drunken ferry ride home!

Dave :D

Some of the SE folks will be there independantly (and probably on the same Saturday Ferry from Newcastle). :)
We'll be doing some time at the 'ring then 2 full days at Spa with LoT (Tue/Wed).

Cheers,
Ali

Road Trip 2006

Post by vito » Sun Mar 26, 2006 3:30 am

Hi all

Glad some of you are thinking of coming along.

There are still places available but I will be moving the event to the 1st or 3rd week in Sept as the weekend I planned to go is a Holiday weekend and due to demand the ferry got booked up very fast and we ran out of space. Sept is proving to be better for most people and this gives everyone lots of time to decide if they can come.

The trip does not include laps of the Ring as not everyone will want to take there cars on track they are along for the trip/ holiday etc prefering to take the M5 taxi also as far as I know a lap is only about 18 euros per lap and some people will want to do 1 others more.

The web site is up and running but still not finished http://www.theredrun.com I will post soon about new date etc.

Hope some of you can make it

Regards
Vito
