I see. I'm sorely tempted to do this on a new Lotus before the end of the month but my sensible head says no, depreciation on a new one and all that. The finance deal does seem tres bien, maybe next year or whenever the 'good deals' start again.

off topic but £2k for the touring pack are they taking the piss? works out at £333.33 an item. £333 for a stowage net anyone?

Noise insulation panelling - £333.33
Auxiliary front driving lights - £333.33
Full carpet set - £333.33
Electric windows - £333.33
Interior stowage net - £333.33
Blaupunkt DAB radio (CD-R/W, MP3, MMC/SD card) - £333.33

SuperCalifragilistic touring pack they are super taking the piss - £222.22 an item.

Driver and Passenger airbags - £222.22
Engine start push button - £222.22 for a button?
Revised Dashboard design - £222.22 for what?
Trinket tray divider - £222.22 for a piece of metal?
Cup holder - £222.22!
Black carpet mats with embroidered Exige logo - £222.22 did I pay for these in the touring pack already?
Black plain/perforated leather steering wheel - £222.22 is this not just the airbagged steering wheel that my first £222.22 paid for?
Black plain leather gear-knob - £222.22
Black perforated leather handbrake-lever gaiter £222.22 - one expensive shifter there.

Not that I'd been looking or anything, you understand

My Integra would pay off the deposit, monthly payment isn't too bad but the final payment is a bit scary - not sure I could save that in 3 years while still paying the monthly fees :?

So what's the smart move, get a loan and buy a secondhand 111R/Exige or take the bigger depreciation hit but spread the payments more via a finance deal like this? Always bought my cars for cash so not really up on the whole finance thing!

The point is you don't save the money, you hand the car back. You're effectively just paying the depreciation + interest I think.

You don't need to save that much. The final payment is effectively (worst case scenario) the minimum value of the car after 3 years. You shouldhave equity so its just a case of possibly finding another couple of £ks to make up the deposit for the next car.

Also, the Balloon payment/final payment will not change if you put a bigger deposit down. A larger deposit will lower your monthly payment only.

yeah thats right. you never intend to pay the balloon off. hand it back and you'll prob have a few grand left as a deposit on the next one.
Also youll prob be ready for an upgrade then anyway
