LOTRDC - end of season review

Post by mckeann » Mon Nov 12, 2007 3:17 pm

the year in numbers.

7 events
15 race starts
10 podium finishes
3 first places
2 second places
5 third places
5114 miles of travelling
550 miles of racing
XXXX cost (not exactly sure but definately still 4 figures)
66.6% podium finish record (highest of anybody)
2nd place in the trophy table

But what cant be put into numbers is the support from my friends on here.

Robin and kelvin, who both got dirty at almost every event, to make sure my shed finished, and spurred me on at events.

Campbell, who helped me get my head in order on a few occasions.

Andy G for joining in and helping keep me amused on the long drives down south.

Everybody else who made it to an event (lawerence, FD, DDTB and there partners)

And everybody on here who congratulated me when it went well, and didnt take the piss out of me too much when i made an arse of it.

This year i did magnificently well on a budget that was 10% of what half the field have spent, and also with a car that has had a handling issue. I dont want to do it again unless i can commit to it fully, so i need to go away this winter, get some sponsors, and go and win the thing outright next year.

If anybody knows anybody that wants to back the winner in 2008 then tell them to get in touch

A few more Ape and TSE snaps!

A big thanks for you advise and help, and the usual roadtrip lunacy!

Its my first trophy but I'm totally out-gunned :)

A top quality effort mate - The DTM especially when you worked all night, caught the red-eye flight, and still had a good qually, then raced, and came home with 2 trophies!

I think TSE left a lot of people bewlidered, that we'd all driven there, Robin as support, and put in some cracking performances against people spending more budget wise and often with far more experience (and who had also driven the southern tracks before!).

2007 will take some beating :)

Loads of memories mate - made for an epic year :D

I'm sure we can hatch a plan to help funding for next year. Might be worth getting a plan and strategy in place, and decisions regarding lcass etc sorted , and then go from there?

Much as I enjoyed outdrinking the opposition, and laughing at the various sheds/getting dirty fixing them, I really cannot commit to doing much next year. If you're going class A then I'll help get your car together over the winter to make sure it's competitive, but I don't think I'll be making too many of the races ... Katie was fantastic this year and didn't bat an eyelid, but I don't think I should take the pi$$ ;-)

Cheers,
Robin

You know me, can barely tell one end of a spanner from the other. But still available as Coach, Neil...whether by phone, by email, by MSN, or - radically - face to face once in a while!

I have had a blast watching you make it happen. Let's get you sorted with a plan for 2008.

Campbell

PS - when's the end of season party and serial race viewing ;-)
