Walshy Days

Post by wil_scotland » Sat Oct 20, 2007 10:14 am

Recently the wife has been moaning at me to decide on what I want for Christmas. Well, I have always thought about doing some track training, but have never found the time or excuse to do it.

As a result I think a day with Walshy would be the perfect present. I know a few of you do a lot of track days, so any advice welcome. Now for the questions.

Is a Walshy day the best to do? Or would something at Knockhill just be as good?

Where is Walshy based?

Lastly, how much should I be looking to pay?

Cheers

PS I want to do the training in my car (VX220)

A Walshy day is worth the time, effort and expense IMHO. Haven't done anything else so can't comment on how they compare...Wot Campbell says though...

(Personally I found one session was really ony a taster- If I was going back I'd try to stretch to 2, as it flew in too quickly, and there's a limit to what you will take in in a few hours.)

Btw far better if you could tie up dates with someone else- normally a few people on here will be interested. Some company and craic make for a far better trip

:withstupid You will struggle to find someone who knows how to handle a car like Walshy he is a magician. You will have a brilliant time if you do it and you will know why everyone raves about it and also why they go back time after time to further improve their driving skills. Im with Bertie is that I wish I did a second day the day after.

Thanks for the reviews. The website makes it all sound very exciting too.

What about Plans? Has anyone ever been down there?

Quite a lot of us have been down. I would recommend that you try and go down with a group of people ideally four of you makes it more fun and you can make a wee trip out of the drive up and down. You will see many posts on here about past Walshy Days. Start a new post and see if anyone else wants to go in the near future.

I enjoyed my recent Walshy day, well worth the travel down from Aberdeen.

As ken has suggested elsewhere, consider doing two consecutive days... I think I will next time.
