its getting a bit common now tbh... unless you go for a variation on a theme and get a single stripe or something?

while you're doing the stripe, you could try and fit the 1100bhp engine too ;)

If you mean the 917-30, it had 1500bhp and looked like this:

917s of that vintage had nearer 550bhp (no turbos). Which is still adequate, strangely.....

Totally agree - Can-Am went a bit coal scuttle for my tastes...

You can't argue with Mark Donohue's comment about the grunt though: (paraphrased as I can't remember it)

"A car has enough power when it can lay black lines from the exit of any corner into the next..."

8) as f**k :thumbsup

 yea, i'd recon that was fast enough too :D

I remember emmerson fittipaldi recanting a story where he took his mother out round interlagos in a 917-30. she feinted down the main straight due to the acceleration 8)

now, if only we could have a porsche 956 in orange stripey stylee gulf colours.........

It looks ridiculous, and that rear wing sitting on top of a couple of lollipop sticks defies description.

For gawds sake, they designed a classic, simple S1 that Colin Chapman would have been proud of, and ever since they have tried their hardest to f**k it up.

S1 Exige excepted, which was also a classic.
