What a non story, heard about Richard Hammond crashing on Radio 1 but did not get the details and that is all it is !!!

It's like saying "Jeremy Clarkson had a rant about caravan drivers" and putting it in the news.

driving the the £100,000 BMW sport car.
I reckon they said it was a BMW 330D on Radio 1, and I saw a photo of a 3 series accompanying the story on the autotrader site. Now if that's a sports car, what's an Elise? :D

OMFG CRASHED LOLZ!!!111

What a non-story! I heard it on the news on Radio 1 and BBC Radio Sheffield today, and neither even mentioned that it was during a race. I really hate sodding journalists.

This was during the Britcar 24hr race at Silverstone last weekend...(There's a thread on SELOC about it...Team Scandal were taking part in Randy's S1 Exige, with Scuffham, Dower and Randall at the wheel)...

Team TG ran a 330D Estate, with Hammond, May and Clarkson driving...As well as The Stig...

Seems Hammond was being lapped by the Chad Motorsports Mosler, and turned into the corner as he was being passed...Apparently did a fair bit damage to both cars...But both continued after repairs...

Would love to do the Britcar 24hr next year...But costs are £££...£9k each for 4 sharing a 996 GT3 cup? or £4.5k each for 4 sharing an MG ZS 190?

(wonders what a Nurburgring 24hr seat would cost... 8) 8) 8) )
