I've used mine every day since I got it. Currently heading for about 15000 miles a year so I've now bought a second car - the though of having to pay for 3 sets of A048's and a couple of services a year didn't appeal. If only money was no object....

Had mine four month, 9,000 miles so far, so yes. It's very easy to tell yourself its a practical daily runner, and it is. See? Easy.

My roof is barely on, which means I have hugely reduced boot space due to roof storage - however I can still go shopping crazy with a passenger and fit everything in.

Picked up a PC from PC world 2 weeks ago, with a passenger. 3 massive boxes. View was restricted at times, but we coped reasonably well.

48k on my 2003 VX now.

Used daily since Jan 03 in rain, hail, snow, gales and even a wee bit of sunshine.

In addition to this i have no garage so winter takes a bit of a sense of humour (hairdryers on door locks, ice on inside of windscreen etc) but it is perfectly do-able.

However since i left my mrs in Feb i've realised that it does help slightly if you at least have access to another car, but I think that would be the case if you had any 2 seater car.

My "other" car arrives in Oct but i can pretty much guarantee that the mileage on the VX won't drop that much 8)

That's not quite the full story about the shared shed though mate.

The bottom end was done - but not because of a wear/tear failure. It's also possible that the folk who re-did the bottom end weren't careful enough with the liner heights during the rebuild so it would be well worth your while having these checked.

The new head was an upgrade so can't really be counted as a consumable either.
