Re Trim

Post by MRpunchinella » Thu Aug 30, 2007 9:53 am

Since last episode of petty Vandalism :rage , I decided not to do much with the car and Ive also been under an avalanche of work :(

I can now begin looking at the inside and washing its face a little. I believe that the sill pads can be 'removed' with some gentle effort, i intend getting these re coloured or re trimmed. They will remain Black but will either be leather or covered with ballistic nylon to take scuffs etc.

the centre of the wheel is getting done. I have the alacantera blue trim on door cards etc, that ive decided to keep. The seats i would like to restore/retrim. they are not in disrepair but are obviously showing a little use (T plate) Having done a task for a man he now owes me big time and i have the offer of retrim at his cost.

Im thinking of 3 options;

retrim black leather (Im not actually keen on leather seats  )

retrim black ballistic nylon (tried kit car seats in this and they were actually ok, not too sweaty  )

retrim black ballistic nylon with blue alacantera seat and back panel (too much 8) ?)

or take the piss and ask for replacement seats that i know are light weight, more supportive but need imported. seen 'em but dont recognise the make.

He is a good contact so I dont want to rip the piss and ruin anything for the future (he has a line on Type Rs - complete+cheapness, totally Kosha, engine swap stylee  )

If you had the option of the 3, any idea what you would perhaps opt for.

Black and blue alacantera sounds the biz. I assume the car is blue?

What about blue nylon + alacantera? ;)

Oh, looks like my car with extra bits ;) (although my interior is red, and wheels are black now)

I was thinking about the black stone chip guards infront of the rear wheel too...

I'd say black/blue, will match in well with the steering wheel / dark grey and blue dash.

Maybe you can take an interior shot and photoshop it for an idea?

Very like my car too.

[baby is optional]

I've got blue Corbeau inserts, love 'em. Had darker blue inserts and door panels since nearly new but changed the seat inserts after they wore out, so am thinking of getting darker blue alcantara to retrim the current ones to match door panels once more.

And at some point I may do the same with the kick-panels too.
