One-off Trackday Insurance

i waited till i got insurance, and i would not change that.
ive had 1 moment when a skyline spun right in front of me - the cossie behind me was close to hitting me - that could have been 2 clams and who knows what else.

however, i didnt feel that much in danger... i tend to not push loads neway, im v gradually getting used to things - im alot more confident since ive had driver training and followed other SEers around KH.

i would say theres a 99.999999% chance ull never have any damage at all.
Im with Esteem - and im old (32 tomorrow!

) - so im lucky in that i get 5 free track days.

any1 know what east fortune is like?

So you seen that then? An Elise I mean?

I've heard of a Skyline and a Scoob that have flipped at KH (outwith racing) but never an Elise. I've seen a few go in broadside at the hairpin too. I seriously doubt theres a single place you'd be able to go into a gravel trap at KH with enough force to flip an Elise, with the massively lower centre of gravity.

But I do agree, if you're going into the gravel, go in straight. As fo East Fortune, it's supposedly faster, so we'll have to see, but again, to get it sideways enough to go in fast enough to flip, I think you'd have to be trying to do it......

Cheers for that one Paul. Got a quote: £134 for the day covering £14k at a 10% excess. Not stunning but not ridiculous either.....

You don't think £134 is rediculous for four hours of cover?

Fair enough, if it makes you feel better about going on, then I guess I can't quantify that in cash.....

Very few on the track day scene take car insurance cover..

Though some policies give track day cover for club days - Heritage for example..

Bit if you were in a bad one and die or were badly injured then it's unlikely life/critical illness would kick in.. whcih is a bigger worry..

Statistically it's a more dangerous activity to drive on a motorway but in reality people do get hurt occasionally tho safety record at Knockers is very very good.. though more people can come a cropper at the faster circuits down south and abroad - not trying to put anyone off as tracking is safe enough if you play by the rules and you're not unlucky to encounter idiots.

If you haven't done so then you'd be better to spend the money on a good harness, fireeater, proper roll hoop or half cage, helmet and overalls etc.

I'm insured with greenlight insurance (underwritten by Highway) and they have trackday cover for £60 an event.

I should also point out i'm a complete girl and even i've been on track without insurnace.........I find its a very good way of not confusing ambition and capability.

Couldn't agree more.....nothing to get the talent vs cionfidence ratio's back in order, than a wee moment, and a bit of a thought to what might have happened!
