Its all about how you interprit the rules, although I do think lifting the car onto the track is stretching it a bit far.

It's not like he got a push from a marshal within a few seconds - the car had to be lifted on to the track.

Mac
Was his car still running? If not... he's out.

mute point I supose given his finishing position. I listened to the race on the radio and was starting to warm to the guy given his reaction to adversity but this incident has raised questions about the "sporting" side of his driving

Anyone know or can point me to where I can get the FIA rules regarding help from the marshals when the car is in a "dangerous position" ?

before I have a rant ;)

i have to echo what martin brundle said on the commentary, and that was, that nobody should have been in that gravel trap at that time, including drivers or marshalls. there were cars coming in there at high speeds, and he was much safer in his car as opposed to standing on top or beside it.

As to wether it was sporting or not, he didnt break any rules, and it was good enough for micheal schumacher a few years back.

I know it's there and I dont see any problems with the driver being helped onto the track, I just feel that having to JCB the car onto the track stretches things a little.

Also was he really on a dangerous section of the track ? he was off the track at the end of the gravel trap.

and well done to Spyker starting from the pit lane was inspired (full wet's where not)

Givenn the fact there were 5 other cars that also shot in to the same trap then yep... I'd say it was a dangerous section... the Spyker just missed him in fact.
I have no signature.

Well the cheating German did it years ago and the FIA reinterpreted their own rules so he could be let off. I guess Hamilton was smart enough to know that.

Most exciting race for years tho, loved Alonso kicking Massa's ass at the end. Clearly Massa has been getting driving lessons from his cheating mate on how to not let people overtake you. Maybe he should of taken some lessons about how to drive in the wet instead :ROFL To be fair I don't suppose it rains much in Brazil or Italy, shame :D

Great race missed the 2nd half though. Will be good to see if Lewis can rebuild some of the momentum he has lost and try and rebuild a lead in the drivers standings. A very MS type move to sit and weight to be pulled out of the gravel!
The saftey car was so close to being collected at one point how he thought sitting in a big puddle where 5 cars had already slid off was a good idea i will never know!

Kimi's drift into the pit lane and then out was interesting too.

Tosh. It just shows he is calm and collected. If Ralf's car was serviceable then he should have sat in it too and seen what happened.

Cheers,
Robin

 That would require him to think! Looked like he was far too busy acting like a tit and tring to get to the side of the track to gesture at the BWM
