If someone wants to book it between a few people, for a day that i'm not working (theres quite a few of them

) then i will do it for a free lunch.

well thats a no go
Since Walshy stopped we lost our temporary consent to do what and however many events we could run in the 5 year period. Now we run under the permitted development 28 day rule where we can only use the site for that given period in 1 year .We maximise this by running events and rally's in that time ,but to loose one of these to a 4 to 10 day car training day would mean loosing the revenue from one of our events. Our cheapest hire is for rallies and they are £3000.00 plus vat and we get the gate.

So for 10 cars that's £300 + v.a.t, cheaper than a 3 day trip down south, when you add in fuel accomodation, food and drinks etc.

28 days and that's it.If we put a marquee up the village take shots and send it in (even if we don't use it on the Saturday for an event) then the Council serve a stop notice.Everything that is not Boot sale or agriculturally related counts as a given day or a change of use . We could run something after one of our events that was a non mag day,but it would be from 5PM onwards.

Willie
how about an evening session?

Thats a pity I was hoping to have a trackday there to get to know the Scooby a bit better

£3000+ is a bit of a jump from the last time when it was minimum 15 cars at £35 each

it seems we could maybe have the venue on an evening after a thrash?
5pm onwards
the costs are gonna dependant on the amount of cars/drivers present?
so whos all interested in setting this thing up?
could do 2 or 3 different evenings?
on saturday an sundays after a thrash meet?

Talk of a training day started on the 'SHAT IT' thread by NoviceRacer yesterday - have a read there and may get a few more names of those interesed in a day - including me.
If looking local, Knockhill charge £1700 + VAT for exclusive hire for 2 hours I think. that privides full marshals if needed, medical support etc.
You could always try a kh track day school if new to this. I did it with my last car - a Scooby WRX - a couple of years ago and it was pretty good for a basic introduction.

There is a difference between trackday tuition and training days.
Knockhill (or any other track) instructors teach you the correct lines, braking points and how to get a good lap time.
A Walshy training day teaches you car control on a wide open airfield.
Big difference chaps and chapesses. Not many circuits in the UK that you can happily spin at 100+ tuts with out fear. Walshy days are about controlling the car at that speed, how to avoid putting it into uneccessary spins, etc.
it might be a long way but we (me and Tom) managed it in 5 hours, in time for several shandies at the bar. Plus we combined the following day after the Walshy with a trackday at Cadwell.
Even without doing that its still invaluable, you will learn more in one day than a couple of years worth of trackdays.

Walshy is meant to be comming up to scotland before the FF6. So if he's here anyway. And a venue is available and we can get the numbers.
What you want to do is get at least 4 of you agree that you want to do it and then phone him and promise that you lot will buy him drink all night after it and he will more than likely go for it. Your bar bill may be mor than the training day cost.

If you wanted to use Kh you would need the track and padock No. 2 too. It would work out to be very expensive.
As Kenny pointed out - for driver training by any instructor (and there's been one or two on here in the past) you would need an expanse of good clear tarmac.

Yup
We can get Ingliston at a very reasonable rate that I'd rather not post.
There are restrictions but not many and weekends are available
The restrictions are mainly due to the "drifting community" damaging the grass.
