Any recommendations? Or do I just go for one of the big names (AA, RAC, Green Flag?)
Thought I'd ask before picking, incase anyone had any stories...
Cheers,

Mine is through my Tesco insurance policy, green flag, they seem to be quicker in getting to you as they send out a local garage within the area to recover you. Anytime I've had to use it it's been Harveys of renfrew who have a variety of low loaders and arrived within 30mins
Bell and Colvill Super 140 S1 Elise
Unfortunately you will get the same bull from all of them when thinking about joining, did this exercise with the VX220 last month when it was playing up.
Spoke about flat beds for being picked up and each of them avoided the issue and just said yeah, i.e they didnt want to say one will always be sent out due to the car, but it pretty much means that chances are they wont fix it with the regular patrol vehicle therefore you will have to send for a flatbed meaning another hours delay!
I am still undecided!

Any time I've used the AA, I specifically said to the phone monkey that it's been a major failure and there's no chance of a roadside fix, then explained that the Elise can't be towed. Never been an issue getting a low loader in that case...
And no, it's not a regular occurance

And ed, with the constant breakdowns, I was only referring to my car as it's got a tuned to f**k K series in it. Which (if you believe all the crap you read on the net) should have blown up 40 times in the 15K I've been running it!
It's only gone once (600 miles after the first head went on it, due to a fault in the casting)

JJ, forgot to mention... If you go AA, you can also sign up for a Parts and Labour cover, which is really useful if you've bought the car privately. Basically, it's like a warranty - if the car has a failure big enough to require recovery, you can get it fixed on the AA - I think to a max of 3 claims of £500 each. Okay, if you have an HGF it won't totally cover it, but it takes the major sting out of it. Plenty on S_E have it and you get a discount joining up the AA through S_E.Any recommendations? i got a really good deal with GEM through money supermarket £45 for both me and the Burd for any car we drive for the full boona. Downside is that it's a pay and claim it back job but if you use a credit card then it shouldn't be a problem.
Also they are likly to use the same contractors as the AA during busy times.
