IIRC didn't Neil McKean look at going down that route before hondaing his car?

2l V8 with 5 valves per cylinder revving to 12k?!?
That must be one complex and tiny little engine!

Almost uncontrollable was the verdict i think?

yup, Sinclaires had it on their stand @ Donington / Stoneleigh a couple of times but backed out at the end.

When I talked to Wayne, he mentioned figures which were outrageously high, even for a trouble free 320bhp.

I mean... I think it should be worth more then the 10k for a Honda or even 15k for a Honda SC, but he was more into the 25k figures :o :(

Is that not the engine which was put together out of two bike top ends on a custom crank case?

If it is I remember hearing good things on the reliability front but I must admit I am a bit dubious. We all know the problems you can have with highly researched mass produced engines never mind small production run ones made out of spares.

Not saying that it doesn’t work just that it would give me the fear.

In the Radicals case they seem to have got the box and the engine working quite well. The problem with them is they need to be refreshed and being twice the pistons etc of the usaul bike powered engine the refresh costs close to double :( Radical for their 455hp requires a refresh every 30hrs so in trackday terms maybe every 10.

A chap called Mike Biddle who now lives in Dubai has a circa 400bhp spec fitted to his narrow-chassis Caterham

It was the blue one at Autosport in 2006 :D
