In fact, they won't, but they'd get all over-excited about how safe 7s are, which is true until you hit something which you can slide under like a decapitating barbed-wire fence for example

Surely that's only if they are caged to the point that you need to limbo into the feckers, no? How would a standard narrow chassis with no side bars or cage, just the standard rollover protection, do in a side impact? I can't imagine very well, having looked at the metalwork.
I'm not stirring here, by the way, if they are a lot better than I think, I don't want to be wandering round with false ideas!

They're great if you hit something like a tyre barrier straight on, but very true ref side impact - the thought of some daft phone-weilding yummy mummy in her X5/Disco/Land Cruiser/etc smacking me side on focusses the mind somewhat

Elise is a little better, having the chassis around you, then meaty big bars in the doors - but a Chelsea Tractor would still climb over the top

Ross,
Good to see you here, good start to your posting all in CAPS my friend, i said they were a friendly bunch, well most of them anyway!!
Anyway this topic has gone waaaay off thread, lets see if we can reign it in and see if we can find Ross another Lizzy other than the racetech, like the one Ed suggested, ideally in black i believe!!
Cheers,
Dave
P.S Ross, i take it you had a good look in the Insurance section, although you should be alright matey, you old git!!!

I'VE HAD QUOTES FROM VARIOUS COMPANIES, WITH ADRIAN FLUX COMING BACK WITH THE BEST ONE AT £478.
IS THERE ANYTHING ACTUALLY WRONG WITH THE RACE TECH APART FROM BEING THE BASIC MODEL?
I JUST LOVE THE LOOK OF IT, AND IT IS ONLY FOR THE WEEKEND

RACE TECH ISNT THE BASE MODEL, IT WAS ONE OF TWO OPTIONAL PACKS; SPORTS TOURER AND RACE TECH.
