Well done Dean,

The NDT is an ever growing sector out there. So once you have a few trips under your belt there should b no shortage of work.

BTW The Buzzard is one of the newest platforms in the North Sea and looks REALLY nice!!! U got a lucky break startin there!!

gary,its testing working parts,usually metal for faults,cracks etc

using magnetic particles,liquid penetrant,eddy currents and ultrasonics...there are more but these are the ones i trained in

Our level 3 NDT guy left a few months ago to set up his own consultancy - plenty of money to be made in that game now. FPI can be handy for owning a Liz

through a friend.
i work part time for his mums company just now

got chatting about me looking for a new career...and ended up finding out about this.

spent a couple of months thinking about it then gettin the money together and did the courses over march and april

cant wait to work FT so i can get my lotus

Not sure, looking for ideas. Work for myself if i had an idea? Something with more money and challenge, that's for sure.

Dean,

I've been looking after the drilling on Buzzard for the past 2 years. Buzzard is less than a year old so pretty nice. The flight is only 30mins on a Puma and is about as short as you get up north.

There are lots of safety rules to get used to, but you'll soon pick them up. Don't worry about being the new boy, take advantage of it and ask all the questions you want.

I know a few people with Oceaneering, they are always short of good people so stick in and I'm sure you'll get on fine.

Nice one deano. My wife is a petroleum engineer for nexen. Buzzard is brand new so poss. The best rig in the nth sea at the moment. I could email u lots of photos of the inside to prepare you for it. The gym looks superb.

I work for a service co and we get to see them all, as for things to do........well you will prob end up pretty good at snooker or pool, and then there's the gym. But last time I was on the Scott platform they had a golf room, with a net etc.
