So after all the posts I guess the criteria are:
1. Something safe.
2. Something cool.
3. Something sub £10K
Still say a 90
1 Safe While not having huge amounts of road holding They would be alot better to crash then a hatch back
2 Cool Open to argument but i think a tricked up 90 is the dogs danglies
3 Sub 10 K without a doudt
Also you can use it in competition if he wants to try his hand at road taxed vehicle trials As for what they can do and where they can do ask Ali i took him for a play round a site the other night.

What a hoot! 'But that is a vertical cliff wall...'
Big grin inducing fun - almost as much as autotesting but without the speed...

All characters appearing in this post are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
Any references to laptimes, speed or driving on the public highway are purely for dramatic effect.

I've been 40 (ish, somewhere between 30 and 50) in mine and that was plenty fast enough in a 2-ton-drum-braked-rolling-road-block
