I see. I'm sorely tempted to do this on a new Lotus before the end of the month but my sensible head says no, depreciation on a new one and all that. The finance deal does seem tres bien, maybe next year or whenever the 'good deals' start again.

Not that I'd been looking or anything, you understand
My Integra would pay off the deposit, monthly payment isn't too bad but the final payment is a bit scary - not sure I could save that in 3 years while still paying the monthly fees
So what's the smart move, get a loan and buy a secondhand 111R/Exige or take the bigger depreciation hit but spread the payments more via a finance deal like this? Always bought my cars for cash so not really up on the whole finance thing!

The point is you don't save the money, you hand the car back. You're effectively just paying the depreciation + interest I think.Digital wrote:http://www.getintoalotus.co.uk/

You don't need to save that much. The final payment is effectively (worst case scenario) the minimum value of the car after 3 years. You shouldhave equity so its just a case of possibly finding another couple of £ks to make up the deposit for the next car.
Also, the Balloon payment/final payment will not change if you put a bigger deposit down. A larger deposit will lower your monthly payment only.
