The elise is an affordable car so you get the scruff types who have to flog body parts to buy and run the car (eg Shug & Myself) right through the spectrum to those with more than a fair bit of spare cash lying around. We all have a common interest which transcends snobbery and we all come together.
And we are mostly barking mad for buying hand-build-in-Norfolk-on-Friday-afternoon-out-of-other-manufactureres-bits British sports cars (Owned by Proton) which must help a bit.

To which the same comment applies, adding the fact that the bodies are pushed out of a mould by some sweaty frenchman between draining a Galoises and burning some British cattle.....

Fraid not!
I can trace almost every part of my vehicle to a proper british sports car (how they got into the S1 in the first place is none of my concern

)

I notice no objection to the barking mad though,
Cluck, cluck, gibber, gibber, my old mans a mushroom, etc.
I'm on my way to hartleypool to buy some exploding trowsers.

Nobody on here even thinks twice about carrying a bar-towel in a 20-odd-K car (to mop up the drips)
Of course we're barking mad!

here was me thinking i was the only one with a bar towel stuck behind the drivers seat for use in soaking up the water that's coming in my doors and side windows!
strange what we'll put up with! it it were an astra you'd take it straight back to the dealer and expect a replacement. but then astra's are no fun
