I have the performance pack but also full carpets, central locking and carbon door inserts and what looks like sound deadening. I initially thought the car must also have the touring pack option fitted but it doesn't have electric windows or dab radio...just to confuse things
Scott, I'd walk away from cars with mixed tyre scenarios like you described. It sounds like a skint owner and therefore probably skimped on other maintenance.
Have you driven an Exige? Or any Elise variant for that matter? I think it was Greg that mentioned earlier about living with such a car in everyday (non-dry back road or track) scenarios, it will wear you down. Listen to what the guys are saying and make sure that you buy with your eyes open. As I said to you before, the first owner of my car barely ran it in before selling it - he bought it for the looks alone without understanding the nature of the car and he simply couldn't live with it on a day to day basis. Don't make the same expensive mistake!

Agree with the above too. I absolutely love my Exige. It is far and away the best car I have ever owned - the grip and handling never cease to amaze me and it still feels special every time I drive it. BUT there is absolutely no way I would want to use it every day, or an Elise for that matter. The very things that make it an exciting sports car when you are in the mood - the raw, visceral driver involvement, the noise, the generally mad-for-it road racer demeanour - would also just get wearing if you were using it for the daily commute, or around town, or on the motorway. I long ago decided that the only solution is 2 cars.
