Cowan drove the car up this morning, and I must say that it exceeded expectations.
He had polished it, and apart from the inevitable few paint chips on the front, the paintwork is immaculate. Will post a few pics tomorrow.
I thought I knew the spec, but the essentials that were missing, braided clutch hose, braided brake lines, and most important of all, the upgraded rear toe link set, I had just ordered from Geary. However a quick check of the car when he arrived showed that they had all been fitted, so I cancelled the order. Plus the rear subframe, my only real worry, is fine.
Took him for a drive around the local roads before we went to Craigs, not too fast as sitting on the other side and changing gear with the right hand takes a bit of getting used to, but I still swear that he had his eyes closed at times.
She drives beautifully, no crash, bang, wollops that I am used to when you go over road defects. Power seems similar, we both have JDM engines, gear change good, but I need to shorten the gear lever tomorrow, but for a ten year old car she drives like new.
The Janspeed is coming off though, and I will fit my Larini whilst N1 TUT is off the road.
Twas good to see Cowan again, he really is a good guy. Although I feel that I have robbed him, as he left home at 0330 this morning he was starving, so I served him up bacon, eggs, sausages, tattie scones, and that went down well.
It was a gorgeous day today so the roof came off as soon as he arrived, and after three months off the road, it was great to get back out again. Cowan then realised that he was buying an Exige, so is already planning to buy a soft top conversion so that he can take the tin roof off.
I will be out early morning tomorrow, great to feel excited again, but then as we all know, that is what the Elise is all about.
