Annandale water services parking ticket

Visited this services at 8am on way to Newcastle had coffee and filled up then on return trip needed petrol again, so filled up again at 3:15pm. The Camera they have for people overstaying has taken my picture again and they are saying I had been there for seven hours and gave me a charge notice! Fortunately I have receipts which prove I filled up twice but it's a bit annoying as obviously it means you can't visit more than once or you have to start proving your innocence and wasting time writing letters.

I would ignore it and let them come for you - they need to do the work you can provide evidence at the appropriate time

I actually think it's worth a letter, with scans of the receipts. And another that perhaps shows your same credit card in use at Newcastle in between

Not because you need to prove a thing. But the feedback may help them improve their system and prevent future innocent citizens being harassed too.

Oh and attach a fee note for an hour of your time at an appropriate day rate. With similar wording to theirs indicating you will pursue payment for your consultancy services. That'll show the feckers.

But I'm glad I'm pre-warned because we use Annandale a lot and it's conceivable we might visit twice in one day too. More likely for toilet stops than fill ups, mind you

I contacted them with the receipts after posting on the forum, They apologised and have said I'm to make myself known next time I visit and I'll get a free coffee. I asked if it was ok to visit more than once per day or if they would rather I go to a different garage, they said it was a one off and the camera must have failed to pick me up when I left in the morning. The pictures appear to be of me on the road from the petrol station. It could have been worse, my wife opened the letter. I'm lucky she hadn't thrown me out and changed the locks as it looks like I was in a motorway hotel for seven hours when I said I was visiting my parents!

Now that would be sport - we could set up some circular loop and travel through their service station in a massive convoy about 20 times in one day ... then take all the letters to the next beach fire
