DIY paint jobs usually look, well, like you did it yourself. However, with the size of the wing mirror casing, you can get away with a DIY paint job IMHO.

£75?!? I got a full rover metro/100 mirror/mount from ebay for about £8 after someone snapped mine off. Swapped over the back painted cover and screwed it back on.

According to
http://www.deroure.com/diagrams.asp?MAK ... 0&ST=&SC=0

The bits all add up to over £150

You can buy a new Rover 100 mirror & housing for £35 - but it's got the joystick cables on it.

Is there a massive premium on it because it's Lotus ?

Years ago, I remember I needed for my VW golf - a brake fluid cap that had 2 spade connectors on the top - VW wanted £35 for it.
I went into the local Seat garage and got one for £7.50 .......

I think the eBay special I bought came with joystick cables, but IIRC these can just be discarded then the unit mounts on as normal.

Anyway, if you have sourced one, that's the main thing :-)

Update.
Got the car back on Friday.
They done a good job on the door ,
However
They just painted on top of the laser blue mount - the ardent red wasn't as bright as the rest of the car - bit darker
They rushed it - they should have prepped it better. There was also a small scratch on it and you could see the blue below !
Car going back in to get this part re done
Also - today - the window has come off the runners
