Alignment

Post by Callummarshall » Tue Jul 14, 2015 6:05 pm

Hi all,

I noticed a little bit of excess wear on the inside of my passenger side front. I decided to get it rectified, I tried reidline in kintore(formally clarks) and they are quoting £400. Is this normal/the going rate and Im being tight or are they milking it?

Cheers
Callum

£400???
Does that include new tyres? It should.
As Woody says - Kenny Brown in Hillington does a great job for a quarter of that. They're taking the piss.

Murrays use to be circa £100 - not sure now. I had mine done at Kenny Brown in Hillington recently; £85.00

I also use Kenny Brown for the Stratos......haven't had the Lotus down there yet, but I will soon and wouldn't go anywhere else. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Mark.

Wouldn't recommend reidline, I had mine done there. They forgot to re-attach the rear diffuser, fitted two front tyres the wrong way round and have an alignment that whilst 'OK' is not as perfect as it should be. I had no confidence in their ability to rectify and have given them a very wide berth ever since.

I use Paul Bowers Motors in Dundee, not much use to you I guess. He charges around £60 for the initial measurement (if that's the word!), then adds on adjustments so obviously if the rear is ok, it's cheaper than all 4..

I was around 100 for all 4 wheels including adding / removing camber shims.

Do NOT use reidline in Kintore for alignment. Mine was out of spec before AND after they did it, but they charged £400 anyway, claiming that was as close as they could get it. Muppets.

If its just the one tyre its not necessarily alignment. Passanger front is a common one for people who live in areas with a lot of roundabouts.
Worth checking the alignment but not at that price.

I'm sure Wallace Performance in Aberdeen have the laser alignment, not sure on costs though but nowhere near £400. I'd have thought around £100 at most depending on what adjustment is required.

Just read that Wallace performance has been sold - I am sure they or the new owners could do it though

Hi matey,

Go and see the Guys at AW autotech. just off King St, Ardarroch road.

They have the best of 4 wheel alignment kit, regularly do race and rally cars, so know what they are doing.

I have heard mixed reviews about Kintore.

Its worth getting it done.
