What company car do you think i should pick?

Right,
just got broadband back online and way behind in research...

I have narrowed my options down to 4 cars from the list i've been given...

- Audi A3 2.0TDI Quattro S-Line
- BMW 120i M-Sport
- BMW 320d SE
- VW Golf 2.0T GTI DSG

List is fairly varied i know... I also have to consider the tax that i get stung for too. for the cars above, it would be an average of 150 quid per month!!

Feckers!

All subject to approval from boss. Not too keen on the Golf GTI unless it had full leather - the cloth seats are horrible.

If it's to go along with an Elise, I'd probably go for the Audi.
As an only car, it'd be the GTi.

Going with an elise (whenever i manage to get rid of my other car)
Might have to px it in a lotus garage!

A3 gets my vote, but BM's rear wheel drive layout would be hard to resist.

I guess you'll get better spec for you money with Audi.

BTW, my reasons for the A3 are that it looks good, is a diesel, practical enough and its quattro.

I discounted the beemer because of its RWD layout. He wont need a fun car if he has the Elise and you want it to be capable in all weather conditions, which the Audi will. The GTi will be next best but the beemers would be rubbish in snow and ice.

Would go with the Audi. The 4wd gives that little extra bit of added safety in bad weather, more stable on the twisty bits when its wet(i.e. all the bloody time).

Stop being a badge snob. Probably better speced than the rest and more likely to get you £50 a month in your pocket.

Am i out of touch with "new" cars or are the - BMW 320d SE
- VW Golf 2.0T GTI DSG not the two drivers cars that stand out ?

I can see this dabate running on & on... As I say A3 would be my choice. However, from what I have read & heard(no experience driving these models) the BM or VW would offer better driver's cars.

I would never consider buying a car because it offers bad weather abilities. Lets face it, it would only be any extra use 2 or 3 days a year. When I had my Liz, I also had a 4x4 rally car on knobbly tyres. The plan was that I would use it when the weather was bad. As it happened, I used the Liz in the snow... coz it was more fun

. I also subscribe to the concept that those with 4x4s have no excuse for not making it to work in the snow
