Guys n gals,

Sounds like you all had a ball! I carelessly got it into my head that this was an afternoon session, so mobilised the family for a chilly afternoon out and showed up at KH around 2pm. Wondered why so many Formula Fords were crusing round the paddock, few Scoobs and Elises in sight, and then saw the practice session underway on track. Doh. Must've been a morning event then!!

Sorry we all missed you. Eilidh was looking forward to her first trackday (albeit only as spectator!).

We went and had a walk up Dollar Glen, to Castle Campbell, instead. Just as good as a few circuits of the outfield ;-) Well, maybe not quite...

I don't think it's that bad, I'm just turning in a bit later than you. I need the best exit possible to keep the Honda behind (and it still didn't work).

I did have a pax though... ;)

Also, it shows how much the Exige rolls...(either that or it was wee fat Mikey in the pax seat) ;)

Ali,

You should speak to the folk in Lotus Motorsport and get yourself sorted out with one of their ARB's.

Not sure if the one I have fitted would be the same as the Exige one but it's one of the better purchases I've made for the car.

The Exige was lapping at its best (apart from the braking issue) on Saturday cant wait to see how the stiffer springs go. Heres a lap

your welcome matey! :thumbsup

had a great day, well organised as ever cheers john.
kh seemed to be making an effort too which was good.
was timed 2up at 62secs which was great, had some decent laps with craig and robin, was great fun. not sure which marshall was at the chicane but he didnt seem to be watching much of the action on track and missed waving countless blue flags. hope everyone enjoyed their pax laps, sorry if anyone missed out, running out of petrol didnt help matters...... thnaks also goes to neil for letting me drive his car. Found it quite difficult with him in the pax seat, think i was trying too hard.
cheers also to tom and g for letting me drive their cars, really enjoyed that, til next time :D

Good effort mate, I have had high 62's with a pax. Would be interested to see how that time compares with the other Exiges.

I had planned on not doing many more track days this year but missing out on this one has been crap, just going to have to break the bank and get pads and discs ordered.

Had a great time at KH again yesterday. :D

Thanks to Ed for giving Helen her first pax laps. She loved it! This is good considering she was never too keen on me getting the car in the first place, so I think she's getting into it a bit more now.

Thanks to Mac and Neil for my pax laps. Loved those slippy moments in the hairpin! :D :D

Dom - sorry for passing on the pax lap offer. Helen was getting a bit cold and we really had to head off for our weekend away. Hopefully next time!

Was also really good to meet a few more folk and put more faces to names. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming as usual!

Dying to get on track myself. Need to get my butt in gear and get some training and put a bit of money aside. Will see how the cash flow is over the next couple of months but it still might have to wait until next year.

Gareth passed us (in Helen's Clio) on the way up to Aberdeen, followed a little while later by a big convoy of Scoobies. :wave

Finally . . . VXJON . . . was that a wee wrong turning out of KH? You and a scooby overtook us in the Clio on the way out of KH, but you then stopped to turn around. I was pretty sure you were heading in the opposite direction of Glasgow!

So - Tyres???????

Is Knockhill going to be a quieter circuit next year or can we give Neil a call to get rid of these molehills?

Got a couple of brief vids on Saturday of Mr Mckeann drifting round the hairpin! Nicely done!
Took one one of the ultima too. That thing sounds like a Spitfire!

TBH, none of those tyre bails bothered me. I cannot see how you would be hitting the one at Macintyres or the chicane or clarkes. Were there any others? They gave you something to try and skim :-)

The unfortunate XTR or whatever it was proved that it's all too easy to reach the real tyre walls :-(

Cheers,
Robin

No there was/is just the three. Not sure how permanent they will be though - speaking to Ian Forrest they will be there but got the feeling when I was talking to Alan that there's more than a few who don't think they are a good idea.

Personally if they are there to stop the racers cutting the corner I would dig up the inside of the apex and but a few feet of gravel in there!
